At Midland Medicine, 24/7 access means our members have a defined way to reach Dr. Atkins or the care team after normal office hours for time-sensitive medical guidance. It helps you know what to do when something comes up: whether it can wait, needs a prescription or follow-up visit, should go to urgent care, or requires the ER.

It does not mean every issue gets an immediate in-person visit, and it does not replace 911 or emergency care. For serious symptoms like chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke symptoms, severe allergic reaction, major injury, or loss of consciousness, you should seek emergency care right away.

If you seek urgent or emergency care, the concierge practice can still be part of the follow-up plan. Members should notify the practice as soon as practical, provide discharge instructions if available, and ask whether follow-up is needed.

This continuity is a major value of concierge primary care. Dr. Atkins can help interpret what happened, review new medications or test results, coordinate specialist referrals, and reduce the risk of important details falling through the cracks.
